Christmas, A time to be joyful and spend time with family and
friends. My family used to always go to my
grandparents for the big Christmas dinner. Turkey, Gammon, mince pies. loads of
salads and loads of desserts. But there was never a joyful spirit in the air,
everybody would eat as quickly as they could and just leave. So now for the
past few years we have been having the Christmas lunch at our house, with all
our close family. Last year had to be one of the best Christmas's to date. Everybody was cheerful and joyous. Nobody
had a sour puss face, and nobody was in a bad mood. It was so great.
Christmas this year...
Josh, my little brother woke up at half past four in the morning and then
woke my mother, my sister and myself up at half past five. Do you remember
being at the age, when you would wake up as early as possible, you didn't quite
think of the fact that you would still have to wait for everybody else to wake
up before you would be able to open any presents.
The smell of my mothers amazing coffee helped to get me out of bed at that inhuman
hour and still be in a good mood. You have no idea what I am talking about,
this coffee is amazing. strong and so tasty. So I don't mind waking up that
early, just as long as I get to have some of Lynn's coffee.
What are your Christmas traditions? Do you leave out a glass of milk. a few
cookies and a couple carrots for Santa? Or does everybody in your family wear
the Family Christmas Jersey, you know the bright red knitted ones, with a
reindeer on the front. My family does
not really have many traditions, usually it is just that the whole family is
up. We all have the Christmas lunch together, and usually we will go to the
beach for a while. My mother said that this year there would be no rules,
anybody is welcome and that Christmas is a time for giving and a time for love.Although this year we did make a new tradition, the Christmas punch, Spiked with Vodka, lol, I have to love my Mother, Oh and it has now become a tradition to have Pavlova as one of the puddings.
One of the things that I love most about Christmas is how everybody comes
together for the big lunch, the food is amazing, mouth watering and if you are
not careful you just might eat to much. So as to not feel completely guilty, my sister and I decided that we would go for a long walk, in the sweltering heat. boy did we sweat. It wasn't an easy walk, but I sure didn't feel guilty while have my turkey.
Boxing Day
Boxing day or the day after Christmas is the day where nobody is suppose to
cook, leftovers it the way to go. Turkey sandwiches, leftover salads and roast
potatoes, which let me just say taste revolting cold. In our family there is
always a minimum if three desserts. This time we had carrot cake, apple pie
and Pavlova with strawberries. The desserts that we had for left overs was the
carrot cake and the apple pie. Boxing day was spent at this breath taking lagoon, where everybody swam, ate and made merry, we must have been there for about 5 hours. This had to be one of the best Christmas's to date. Tell me about your Christmas.
